This run was decent because temps were above freezing and the running paths were absent of snow and ice. I enjoy snow quite a bit but the melting and refreezing process leads to really dangerous running on ice, snow, slush and combinations of the three. I ended this run in Davis Square, where I attended the fabulous Old School Game Show. The Old School Game Show is a mix of audience participatory trivia, theatrical comedy, and an all-together riot of insanity and good fun.
Today’s weather allowed me only two layers up top and the ability to wear cotton leggings instead of lined-wicking-compression-ankle-killing tights. I must thank my stars for the latter because they make 30′ and below tolerable…but I hate them. I tire of feeling constantly compressed and squeezed while my body braces and clenches against the cold and muscles begrudgingly work and sweat. I’m ready for a gentle wet spring wind, instead of the winter wind that steals the breath and burns exposed skin. Robins have been popping up during every run, single and in rounds, and this never fails to cheer me. Below is the Esplanade and the quick flash of a sunset.
