What a joyful snow run! I look like a happy lunatic, and perhaps I am. This morning I awoke to about 8+ inches of snow, busy plows and empty streets. To avoid the plows, I ran on the sidewalks which felt like beach sand dunes. I concluded that I prefer snow to sand running because at least snow compacts upon impact and gives a bit of lift. I saw 2 other runners- one as prepared and cheery as I, the other a girl who appeared not to know that snow burns bare skin and thus hats and masks are the name of the game.
Today I wore a usual layered set over thermal spandex. Up top I wore a strawberry hat knit by my best friend, my trusty handkerchief and my ski goggles. The ski goggles were quite comfortable and allowed complete visibility. My braids appear to have morphed into ear flaps, quite helpful. Below find a panorama I took of the Boston skyline from the Mass Ave Bridge in Cambridge. TOTAL WHITEOUT!
